(250) 656-0868 W̱SIḴEM (Tseycum) is part of the W̱SÁNEĆ (Saanich) First Nation with territory centred on the Saanich Peninsula and southern Gulf Islands. The W̱SÁNEĆ (Saanich) First Nation is a single Nation that was historically split into four First Nations according to village site by the Canadian government1. Most W̱SIḴEM (Tseycum) members live on the Union Bay Indian Reserve No.4 reserve at the centre of Patricia Bay on the Saanich Peninsula. In SENĆOŦEN , the name W̱SIḴEM means "land of clay"2. Language InformationSENĆOŦEN classes are held in the LÁU,WELNEW Tribal School that is on the W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip) reserve in Brentwood Bay and as of July 2008, there is also a FirstVoices archive of 367 words and 536 phrases.
