The Mowachaht/Muchalaht First Nations is the union of the Mowachaht and Muchalaht First Nations who joined to form one group in 19351. The main community is now at Gold River but the largest Mowachaht village was formerly at Yuquot in Nootka Sound (Friendly Cove).
