“The struggles of a late immersion can be seen in my artwork and sometimes with a political social twist. My work is a biographical document of my journey, in search for answers to my cultural identity.”
Intrigued by the process of art making Liz Carter enjoys the exploration of different mediums. Her creative energy is spent full-time on painting and black & white photography. Liz strives to practice new ways of exploring, improvising and expressing her work in order to communicate her message clearly.
As most First Nations people feel when they are raised outside of their culture, Liz felt disconnected with her cultural heritage but re-introduction took place after the birth of her children and since then her work has turned to an integration of identity with many facets.
