Huu-ay-aht
The main community of the Huu-ay-aht First Nation, Pachena Bay (Anacla Reserve), is located approximately 12km from Bamfield on the west coast of Vancouver Island. The Huu-ay-aht have a long and proud history in their traditional territories. Their histories extend back to the beginning of time, and tell of many great people, adventures, traditions and deeds. The Huu-ay-aht First Nation is a member of the Nuu-chah-nulth Tribal Council and is a member of the Maa-nulth First Nations. They have recently completed and ratified their community constitution and have successfully ratified the Maa-nulth Treaty on July 28th, 2007.
